When some are starving to death!

I usually start an article with an image on the topic but how can I put across an image of people who are victims of starvation. Let me start with the concept of balance that exists in this world. I am exposed to the concept that if there are fortunates, there will be unfortunates. If there is water, there will be land. If there is materialism, there will be spirituality. If there is good, there will be bad. If there is abundance , there will be scarcity. And my observation is truly convinced that if you want to know what is liquid, you need to know what is solid. The concept of opposite always prevails in the world, so concludes my limited understanding.

But how can we justify that even today, this so called era of technology and people are dying due to starvation. We all glorified that photographer who took a pic of a malnourished child and a vulture waiting by his side waiting for its turn to attack the child.

My friend told me that this world is producing food 17 % more than what it needs but yet it doesn’t reach in every place and the reason could be issues between countries, poor governance and many other reasons which when evaluated is nothing else but justifies the word ‘absurdity’.

I was triggered to write this article when I saw a few pics in the Social Media of people in Yemen. They hardly had any muscle, bones could almost be seen.

I would put it this way, “I have had opportunities to know what is hunger but I knew it that I can manage for it was just for a day”. It is completely fine to skip a meal for once or twice but if for many days, the kind of psychological catastrophe it would cause, is beyond any consolable words.

It also makes me wonder that what is United Nations, World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)is doing about it.

But then I pacify myself, “Who am I to think all this? I am not in charge of it. But how come or how can I stop thinking for those brothers and sisters who dont have access to food and I see on the other side there are millions of people who waste food.

I heard it from my colleague that he once visited a Restaurant which charges customers for wasting food. This whole world should practice it or may be pack the remaining food for home.

Oh lord! I am helpless because I know it is you. Without your will, it will not happen. I will not, I will never plead such that you give them enough food.

My question is when we have it, why not distribute it?
