As you all know that this is my first speech as the Prime Minister of India and probably the last speech . I want you all to know that if today we are sleeping peacefully, it is because of the mentality of sacrifice of our Defense forces.
Let us not forget that we attained Independence in the year 1947 but we have not progressed the way we could have considering our potential. If you ask me why?As far as am concerned it is because we chose to prioritize our selfish interests than prioritize our Nation as selfless patriots.
I expect you all to work in such a manner where you display your honesty and that would bring progress in our nation. When I talk about progress, I don’t intend to put the economic factor first in priority but my first priority would be to ensure that all Indian citizens are having 3 meals a day and thereby there is enough nutrition in each one’s health and that paves way for them to think beyond the challenges. I believe in the social quotient much more than the monetary quotient.
I want you all to know that non — performance of any government professional will not be tolerated and neither corruption. It is performance that counts from now on, not your caste, creed, color, political party etc whatsoever. Serve your country as a patriot, no matter in whichever domain you are in. I hope I don’t have to give a second speech in my tenure of 5 years for I am not a man of rhetoric but a man of actions.
