A Radio Jockey without a script!

Good morning World! And here I am, RJ Durga speaking from Radio World. Today is Monday and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was awesome, I could spend the whole day with my lion. We went to an isolated park and threw the trident every now and then, for my lion to bring it back to me and that’s the regular training process we follow every week.

Life has become easy these days it seems. Earlier when I used to be live, I didn't have to wait a second to get a call. But now, it has changed. I am here for almost ten minutes now and no calls. Now, that is a positive sign indeed. It means no one has an issue in their lives. And I have been noticing this change, since I killed Mahishaasur.

So, let that be the theme for today — How I encountered Mahishaasur? So, Good morning World! Here is the first song from Radio World, my personal favorite — Lalita Sahasra nama stotra ! Enjoy!

Undoubtedly, Mahishaasur was a demon and he had this pity feeling upon me thinking that as a woman, how would I defeat him who looked more powerful than me. In short, Mahishaasur had this ego that he could easily defeat me and none could stop him. On the other hand, although I had this weapon i.e the trident or trishul, whatever you may call it…………

Oh!finally we have someone on line. Hellooooooooooooooo. Welcome to Radio World! This is RJ Durga! What do you want to share with us?

Caller: Hi! I am Geetha. And………I ….. I find it very hard to adjust to my marriage life. What should i do?

RJ Durga: How long it has been since your marriage and what makes it very difficult to adjust?

Geetha: I am married for the past 6 months. My father failed to pay the dowry which he had agreed to pay during marriage. So, I am treated very badly by my in-laws. What should I do?

RJ Durga: You are not the only one to face such a crisis. I want to know your educational qualification and are you willing to go for a job?

Geetha: I am a graduate and yes, I am willing to go for a job.

RJ Durga: Ok. Now, we have a problem here and the problem is not the dowry but the mistreatment and no woman deserves that. So my suggestion is simple, phone your parents and say that you are leaving your husband’s home as you are being treated badly. Phone your husband if he is out for work and inform him the matter and then Go home. Think of all the various job opportunities that you can apply for to meet your daily expenses. Make sure that you are not a burden for your family. Come what may, stand like a rock. Now, what I have given you is a solution. It is very easy to listen to my words and imagine that things will happen exactly the way I have told. But what if, things dont happen your way? You have a phone! Dial 100! No compromise. And you might be hesitant that how can you complaint against your husband’s mother or relatives. But feed it in your mind, that your husband’s relatives should also think that after all, your are the wife of their son. Your Mother-in-law should think that you are not her daughter-in-law but daughter indeed. So when they fail to think that way, you too should fail. You are not an exchange object over dowry.

So am continuing with the theme. Obviously, all in the human race know how Mahishasura looked like. I dont know which photographer took our image while I was fighting Mahishasura. I actually didn't want Mahishasura to be famous, for tomorrow there is every chance that people might project him as a warrior injecting illogical stories such that people start to believe that Mahishasur was nothing less than a God. Anything can be framed today and a news worth selling or convinced to the mind of every human.

Hey, Welcome Back, thanks to Rohit for the wonderful song selection. And of course, kudos to the Late Jagjit Singh for his wonderful rendition. So, let’s continue with our conversation. I was talking about Mahishaasur and how he is known among all along with me. But, I want all my listeners to think, who were the parents of Mahishaasur? It might sound illogical but I need you to think, who were the parents of Mahishaasur? Ok, forget that, how many of you know, who are my parents? Someone has got to create me right? I cant evolve from thin air. Isn't it? Or is it that you all think that I am a Goddess and I could really come up from nowhere? If that’s the case, why would i travel on a lion. I came to this studio travelling on a lion and not from disguise. Which means, I have limitations, I am travelling on a lion. If I have a devotee, someone from America who needs my help, I would start from here i.e India sitting on my lion and just imagine how many days it would take for me to reach the devotee and meanwhile how will i be able to feed my lion and there are numerous other questions that needs to be addressed for my journey to reach my devotee in America. So, am I a Goddess? Someone with so much limitations, on what grounds, do I deserve to be worshiped or idolized ?

So, the question arises, “Who am I”? or How far you have understood me? And even, not only me but Mahishasur as well? Coming to the question, who created me and Mahishaasur as well? I was created for a purpose, but by whom? I was created by a seer and so was Mahishasur ! And we were not living beings — yes, we never lived — we were just a piece of imagination, crafted by a Seer to explain the scientific principles of Spirituality. If I give you an example, I am often shown as travelling on a Lion or a tiger. The Seer or Rishi or Sage intended to give the message that you must have control over your animal instincts. I always have a crown on my head and that too gives a message. I always carry a trident on my one hand, dont you guys think that I am outdated, I can rely on a better weapon than this which is available. Why is it that I have 10 hands and each hand holds one instrument each? Why didn’t I have more hands than 10 ? Why didn’t all my ten hands hold ten different weapons instead of those instruments which are not going to help me for a fight with anyone. Why would i tackle Mahishasur with a conch, dont you think that it is illogical? What I am trying to convey is, instead of having that blind faith that I am a Goddess and the one who assassinated Mahishaasur, What I expect from you is to think rationally that Durga is a state of your existence and the Lion is a state of your existence and Mahishaasur is also a state of your existence. The explanation in one line which i want you to give is you should have control over your animal instincts and you should eliminate the Devil in you .

But instead of that, all of you created a Goddess and created a Devil and started worshiping me and as a mark of devotion, you celebrate Durga Puja which has nothing to do with the reality.

Lets say you worship me which is not necessary. Lets say you worship a phone and all through the day, you keep thinking about the phone. And your concentration increases and if in case you dont know, when your concentration increases, your divinity or positive energy increases. This is part of your spiritual journey. So, through my image with ten hands and sitting on a lion and attacking Mahishaasur, it is all giving this message about the Spiritual journey.

Now, here is the last point and it is almost time for the next show. When you idolize me or worship me or any other object whatsoever, it should be so much that due to intense concentration, I appear right in front of you or the object right in front of you, as part of the reflection of your concentration. And then you immerse in me or the object as your concentration increases further and immerse in the ultimate, what is known as Spiritual consciousness. And you dwell on the state where you are not body, you are not mind, you are not the intellect but only the Spirit. The state where you are in union with God. But look at what is happening in my name, without understanding the true meaning, what kind of mockery is going on.

Celebrating Durga puja means you should overcome your animal instincts and negativity to reach the higher level of consciousness.
