81–81–8? A tribute? Yes!
January 10, 2021 marked the 81st birthday of the Celestial Singer Dr. K.J Yesudas. Of course, the music world must have witnessed vivid kind of celebrations by his fans and followers. But a rare event happened in Cochin. A rare musical event!


On the 81st birthday of Dr. K.J Yesudas, Cochin Mansoor created magic by singing 81 songs of Yesudas continuously for 8 hours and created another record.
This musical event named “Ganagandharvageethi” which means “Songs of the Celestial Singer” was organised by Sing India Musical Entertainment App. And was glorified with the presence of eminent personalities who are known for their contribution to Music. Some of them are Jerry Amaldev, Jency Anthony, R.K Damodaran, Chittoor Gopi, Cochin Ibrahim & Manju Menon. The event was also blessed with other eminent personalities like Varghese Katiparambil, Benny Joseph. The event was inaugurated by The Mayor of Cochin, Mr. M. Anilkumar.
Mansoor sang 30 songs penned by Vayalar, 15 songs penned by P. Bhaskaran, 10 of Sreekumaran Thampi, 10 of Yusufali Kechery, 5 of ONV Kurup, 9 of Bichu Thirumala and the last two were of Mankombu Gopalakrishnan.
